Simple chia banana pudding

Chia is becoming ever so popular, due to it being a super food and providing us numerous delicious treats that it can be incorporated in. In this recipe, you will see how to prepare the quickest pudding ever, which is also delicious and full of nutrients. And, low in calories.

Ingredients per person

20g chia seeds

100 ml 1.5% cow milk

1 banana

The three ingredients used in this recipe are: chia seeds, 1.5% fat cow milk and banana. There are sweeter variations to this recipe. You can use any sort of sweetener you like, including: sugar, honey or syrups, but to keep it simple and lower on calories, in this recipe no such things will be used. The banana will be sweet anyway, and the entire composition will taste sweet due to the fruit. It will basically borrow its’ taste, since the chia pudding by itself does not have much of a taste. So no need to add any extra sugars, just leave the fruit do the taste magic.

Preparation

As i said this pudding is obtained in the easiest way. All you need to do is put the chia seeds into a bowl or recipient that you can put in the fridge for a few hours, and poor the milk into the same recipient. Then, stir the chia and milk composition for a few minutes. Don’t expect to see anything else than some seeds at the bottom of the recipient and some milk on top of it after stirring.

After you are done stirring, leave the composition in the fridge for a few hours, or if you plan to eat a delicious breakfast, leave it overnight.

By the time you are removing it from the fridge, all of the milk should have been absorbed by the seeds. If there is any extra milk on top in the recipient, just remove it. The lower part of the recipient will be filled with the newly obtained pudding. Use a spoon to check that the consistency of the resulting mix feels like jelly or pudding. If so, it is ready to eat.

Well, almost ready. You still need to add the fruit! Move the pudding to a recipient you want to eat from, or the recipient you want to store it in to take along with you. Add some or all of the banana slices on top to make it look pretty. Don’t throw the rest of the banana away. Eat it with the remainder of the pudding.

You should eat the pudding within a few hours after preparing it. Don’t leave it for two days, just prepare a fresh one before you want to indulge in a chia craving.

Approximate number of calories per portion: 220.

Enjoy 🙂
